Officially….

Marieta Carrero is a bilingual actor and singer with some bicoastal vibes (LA and New York but also Mexico City). Currently in Los Angeles.

She was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico and raised in Monterrey, México. She then moved to New York (with a quick pit stop in Boston) to pursue her ambition of becoming a storyteller. She graduated in 2014 from NYU with a BFA in Drama. She has performed internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, off-Broadway throughout New York, and regionally at Williamstown Theatre Festival. Some of her favorite credits include: Thyona in Charles Mee’s Big Love, bad things happen here, and El Laurel de Apolo.

As an artist, Marieta believes in the importance of community in theater. She strives to create theater that speaks to the transformative powers of humanity, fearlessness, and compassion.

She relishes collaborating on devised pieces and new contemporary works.

Secret: I’m teaching myself to rap within the comforts of my bedroom.

Fun fact(s): I’m a junior black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and I played competitive soccer for 10 years.
